EXPRESS YOUR OPINION ABOUT MOSCOW CITY CENTRE At the moment a group of 5th year students of Moscow Institute of Architecture is making a research of former hotel “Russia” area and is seeking possible ways of its renovation. Within this research we have made a short public opinion poll and ask you to answer it. Zaryadye is a historical district in Moscow established in 12-13th centuries within Kitai-gorod, between Varvarka Street and Moskva River. 1935 master plan of Moscow called for demolition of Zaryadye, clearing space for the Industry Building and its riverside ramps. This project did not materialize as planned. In 1967, Rossiya Hotel was built on this site. The hotel was demolished in 2006. A new entertainment complex (by British architect Sir Norman Foster) should have been built on this site, but still the area remains undeveloped. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaryadye http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rossiya_Hotel,_Moscow http://www.fosterandpartners.com/Projects/1419/Default.aspx http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=55.7513,37.629&spn=0.01,0.01&t=k&q=55.7513,37.629&hl=ru |
